Abstract: Topological superconductors are predicted to host exotic Majorana fermions that obey non-Abelian statistics and can be used for topological quantum computing. There are a few different approaches to search for topological superconductors, among which is spin triplet paring. Triplet pairing is a very rare quantum phenomenon and up to date only a few candidates have been identified. Recently, we discovered a new candidate for spin triplet superconductor, UTe2, which bares salient features of spin triplet pairing. I will discuss this new discovery in the broad context of searching for topological superconductors.
