Abstract: Among grad students, graduate school is a place to pursue interests, gain knowledge, obtain understanding, and is a stepping stone to achieve long term goals. But often graduate school is also associated with high stress. In many ways this is true. However, this stress does not need to exist. The talk discusses major sources of stress and perceived stress among graduate students arising from the graduate school atmosphere while outlining how to manage, reduce, and overcome them.
