The Physics department would like to extend our congratulations to Dr. David Sing, a former student from our department. Dr. Sing, who is now a professor at Johns Hopkins University, is a renowned professor in the field of exoplanets, or planets which exist outside of our solar system. Dr. Sing is currently leading the Hubble Space Telescope's largest research program with regards to exoplanets. Using wavelengths from UV to infrared, this study will look to compare 20 known exoplanets. While at the University of Arizona, Sing received both his Bachelor of Science and his PhD in physics. During this time, Dr. Sing used Johns Hopkins' FUSE satellite for the completion of his Doctorate thesis regarding binary star systems.
