Congratulations to our graduate student Anna Roche, who received the 2024-25 ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) Scholar Award. She will be recognized as the Mary Ann White Memorial Scholar. The ARCS Foundation advances science and technology in the United States by providing financial awards to academically outstanding students who are US citizens studying to complete degrees in science, engineering, math, technology, and medical research. This is a highly competitive and prestigious award and provides a great opportunity for doctoral students to present their research to interested donors.

Anna is currently a fourth year Ph.D. student in condensed matter experiment working with Prof. Brian LeRoy. Her work investigates the nanoscale optical properties of 2D materials.
