Evan LaForge Receives College of Science Outstanding Senior Award

The Department of Physics would like to congratulate and acknowledge our Outstanding Graduating Senior for Fall 2023 – Evan LaForge. Evan is a Physics and Math double major with a strong interest in Physics research and altruism. Evan has been heavily engaged with Physics research with Dr. Johann Rafelski as well as co-founding Tucson Effective Altruism (TEA) with a fellow Physics/Astronomy student, Akash Satpathy. Evan described TEA the following:
“[In Tucson Effective Altruism], we motivate ourselves and our peers to pursue solutions to global problems and maximize our positive impact. We also continually engage in discussion groups and independent projects meant to challenge our values, worldviews, and goals…”
