Physics Department Welcome Event

Last Friday, the Physics department held its welcome event.  This was an opportunity for the department to welcome more than 60 new undergraduate and 12 PhD students.  For returning students, it was a chance to see familiar faces and catch up after the summer break.  The incoming Department Head, Shufang Su, recognized Sumit Mazumdar and Ken Johns for their 15 years of service to the department as Department Head and Associate Department Head.  After that, there were a few short presentations about activities within the department for both undergraduate and graduate students.  Then it was time to move outside for food and games on the lawn of PAS.
