UA Physics and Astronomy Departments host the APS CUWiP 2024
The University of Arizona Physics Department and Astronomy Department are excited to host the APS Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP), which will be held at the iconic Biosphere 2, Oracle (near Tucson), Arizona, on January 19-21, 2024. The meeting will provide ample opportunities for interacting with fellow physicists. The conference will include the following activities:
- Presentations by professional physicists on their cutting-edge research and personal career paths;
- Panels featuring career opportunities outside academia;
- Workshops or panels offering guidance on how to get involved in summer research, the graduate school application process, applying to transfer to a four-year college from a community college, and preparing for and applying for jobs in industry;
- An opportunity for undergraduate attendees to present their research.
The application site is now open (https://www.aps.org/programs/women/cuwip/). Note that this conference is completely free to students! If you are interested, please apply before the deadline of 5PM ET on Monday, October 23, 2023.
