Abstract: The observation of the Higgs boson at the LHC has opened a new era of research at the electroweak frontier. As we are learning new aspects about the electroweak symmetry breaking, many questions still remain. In this presentation, I will discuss the importance of measuring the Higgs potential and how the measurement of Higgs pair production with the ATLAS experiment can help us in understanding it. I will review the current results of the ATLAS experiment, using the example of the analysis of Higgs pairs, where both Higgs bosons decay into two b-jets. I will then highlight the advances the collaboration is pursuing to reach the observation of Higgs pairs at the LHC.
