Deadline: December
Eligibility: PhD students who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents, as well as individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program.
Description: The fellowship seeks individuals who demonstrate superior academic achievement and a commitment to a career in research and teaching at the tertiary level. The Ford Fellowship offers Predoctoral, Dissertation, and Postdoctoral awards. Positive factors in successful candidates include: a demonstrated capacity to respond in pedagogically productive ways to the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds, sustained personal engagement with communities that are underrepresented in academia, likelihood of using the diversity of human experience as an educational resource in teaching and scholarship, and membership in a minority group whose underrepresentation in the American professoriate has been severe and longstanding.
