Abstract: Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) methods, in conjunction with high-quality nuclear interaction models, are powerfuls tool to understand nuclear structure and dynamics. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the variational and Green’s Function Monte Carlo methods that I use to study weak and electromagnetic processes in nuclei. Then, I will discuss the insight into the underlying two-body dynamics and structural features of nuclei provided by QMC calculations, and how that allows for interpretations of the physics that impact electroweak observables. I will also discuss how this same framework provides a means to incorporate models to study beyond the Standard Model physics with nuclei. Finally, I will provide an outlook for future directions that one can explore with these tools, including possible challenges and how one might endeavor to solve them.
