Checklist of Documents
All PhD Program applicants must submit the following items prior to the dates listed above.
- An application for admission to the University of Arizona must be submitted online . A $90 non-refundable processing fee is required for all applications. If you are a participant of one of the sponsored programs in this link, you may be eligible for a fee waiver by submitting a verification letter. To inquire about need-based application fee waiver, contact the graduate program coordinator with evidence such as previously received need-based federal grants (for example Pell grants).
- Foreign Applicants: Proof of English proficiency is required for international applicants who hold citizenship from a country where English is not the official language or do not hold a degree from a US institution. For specific country requirements follow this link.
- Both the GRE General Test and the GRE Physics Test are optional. If you have not yet taken these exams but plan to do so, you may include the scheduled test dates in your application.
- All other required application materials including Statement of Purpose (SOP), List of Courses and online submission of Letters of Recommendation are included in the online application. Contact the DGS if you would like to request a sample SOP. You are also welcome to contact our student representatives through the email listed below.
- Copies of unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial review and should be uploaded onto the online application. Official transcripts will be requested if you are offered admission into our program.
