Welcome Kristy Merdinger!

Join us in welcoming the newest member of our Physics Department family Kristy Merdinger! Kristy is our new academic advisor. She will work alongside David Smith, providing academic support for astronomy and physics majors.

Kristy grew up in Montana and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Montana. She recently relocated to Tucson from Bozeman, Montana where she had spent over four years at Montana State University working in undergraduate admissions and academic advising. Prior to that, she taught English language learners in Mexico, Japan, the United States, and Ecuador. Her interests include hiking, travel, language learning, cooking, and word games.
