Professor Andrei Lebed discovers that a high magnetic field can change the physical nature of conducting electrons in quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) conductors. In particular, he shows that the Landau Fermi liquid description of electron-like quasi-particles can be broken in the above-mentioned materials in high tilted magnetic fields. He suggests to perform the corresponding experiment in the Q1D conductor (Per)2Au(mnt)2 in a magnetic field of the order of H = 25 Tesla.
