Abstract: “The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is a next-generation experiment designed to precisely measure the parameters governing long-baseline neutrino oscillation in a single experiment and probe for indications of new physics beyond the Standard Model. Excavation of the underground caverns that will house the large detectors needed to detect neutrinos produced at Fermilab and directed through the Earth towards South Dakota is underway and the facility is on track for being ready for the start of detector installation in 2024. This presentation will attempt to describe the motivations behind DUNE and provide details of the plan for its full implementation over the next decade.”
