Quantum information science has been an exciting area of research, with many different platforms. In this talk, I am going to introduce quantum information science with a focus on quantum optical systems, including two main subjects---quantum sensing and quantum information scrambling. Quantum sensing utilizes nonclassical resource, such as entanglement and coherence, to enhance performance of estimating parameters or hypothesis testing. I will summarize recent advances in quantum sensing, especially introducing two protocols, quantum illumination and distributed sensing. Quantum information scrambling in many-body systems has sharpened our understanding of quantum chaos, complexity and gravity. I will introduce the basics and some new results on information scrambling in quantum optical systems.
