A ceremony for the Fall 2025 College of Science Undergraduate Awards was held on Thursday, December 11. These awards recognize outstanding undergraduates from each department in the College of Science. Please join us in congratulating this semester’s Department of Physics award winner.
Saif Alrawaished, Physics, Outstanding Senior!
Saif is graduating with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. He has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, ranking at the very top of his classes with a perfect 4.00 GPA.

In research, Saif contributed to the ATLAS experiment at CERN, focusing on machine learning techniques to improve calorimeter cluster calibration. He developed advanced validation tools using PyROOT, implemented innovative 2D reweighting methods to enhance data-Monte Carlo agreement, and presented his findings at the APS Four Corners Section Annual Meeting.
Beyond research and coursework, Saif has been an active member of the Kuwaiti Club at UArizona, participating in cultural and social events, providing informal tutoring in mathematics, and assisting incoming students. His dedication and accomplishments exemplify the qualities celebrated by the Outstanding Senior Award.
