National Physical Science Consortium graduate fellowships in science, mathematics, and engineering (NPSC)
Deadline: Varies by year
Eligibility: Any U.S. citizen who has the ability to pursue graduate work at an NPSC member institution. Applicants at any stage of their graduate program may apply, as long as they will be available to accept two summers of paid internship.
Description: NPSC's goal is to increase the number of American citizens with graduate degrees in the physical sciences and related engineering fields, emphasizing recruitment of a diverse applicant pool. The program matches its fellows to employers in government agencies and laboratories and industry. Since its inception, 82% of NPSC fellows have been minority, female, or both. Benefits of the NPSC fellowship include an annual $20,000 allowance, full tuition and fees, and one or two paid internships with a government agency.
